Manny Ramirez Trade: Visionary's Two Cents
Before, I make this post, I just want to state that I am not a Sox fan and today's Rod Sox play is completely coincidental. I also want to give my two cents on the Manny to "La La Land" for Jason Bay, only because all the radio talk show hosts are just annoying the hell out of me on this one. I must have heard about 10 different radio hosts ripping on the Sox and saying shit like "an emotional trade by the Red Sox where they just got worse." Theo Epstein is smarter then all the sports talk radio idiots out there combined. I am not a Red Sox fan by any means. In fact, I don't like them at all. Wait...I hate the Sox! But, I know a well run baseball team when I see one. And, I know a talented baseball team when I see one. Boston really does have the best front office in baseball (yes, better then Oakland). They are going to look like geniuses when this is all said and done. Of course, the talk show hosts won't admit that they got it wrong, just like they did with previous Boston trades and signings (J.D. Drew, Pedro, Damon, Ortiz, etc....) This Sox team still looks like the best team in baseball to me and I don't see anyone in the AL right now (besides maybe Angels) that can stop them. Forget the Yankees as they still don't have the starting pitching and the Ray's bats will fall apart. Once again, you will see another Boston AL East title in September and I will directly link to this post when they do it again. Also enjoy watching Manny's number decline; maybe not this year, but over the next 2 or 3 years you'll be watching his career wind down, while Jason Bay will play a solid role in the Sox organization for a few years. No doubt Manny is a force at the plate, but he just isn't worth it anymore and he is not going to like playing the outfield in National League ballparks. I may sound like a Sox fan here and I know I took the Sox today, but trust me...I am very far far away from being Red Sox fan.
