Hello College Football Fans:

Last night's Connecticut @ Louisville was incredibly frustrating. We looked like we were right on schedule with our 4-unit play on the over (and the Cardinals) to hit and everything was going as planned. Everything was in motion, right up until the quarterbacks started to go down. Friday puts the college football record back into the red and sets us back another six and a half units. But, lets forget about that because The Visionary has a card of college football picks for Saturday that I am extremely excited about. I did a lot of handicapping all day yesterday and during the game last night. I spent more time on this card then I think I have for any set of picks all football season. Therefore, if any of you disagree with the picks, I honestly don't want to hear about it today. Nobody is forcing you to play these. I am determined to have a profitable Saturday today. If you don't like the picks, don't play em', but keep it to yourself. Whoever wants to jump on board, feel free; We'll see you at the cage. Here we go....

Visionary's Saturday NCAA Football Picks:

Pick: New Mexico State Aggies +3 (CFB)
Value: 5 Unit Play

Pick: Illinois Fighting Illini +16 (CFB)
Value: 4 Unit Play

Pick: Georgia Bulldogs -6.5 (CFB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Oklahoma State Cowboys -17 (CFB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Oklahoma Sooners -18.5 (CFB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Miami Hurricanes -7 (CFB)
Value: 2 Unit Play

The Visionary's Friday NCAA Football Picks!

2008 MLB Baseball Picks Record: 68-50 (+82.85 Units / 58%)
2008 NFL Football Picks Record: 30-18 (+35.50 Units / 63%)
2008 NCAA Football Picks Record: 24-20 (+3.70 Units / 55%)

Good Morning My Sports Betting Buddies:

We got that ugly red figure off the 2008 NCAA football picks record last night by nailing our three unit play on the over in the SMU/Tulane game and of course hitting our two unit play on Oregon State, both of which were over well before the final whistle. I am sure everyone enjoyed the Oregon State upset over USC. If you didn't read yesterday's post, other then taking the Beavers and the points in last night's game, this is what The Visionary had to say;

"Here's a college football prediction for ya and you can mark my words on this; USC will not go undefeated this year."

I honestly did not think my prediction on the Trojans would have been correct this quickly. The funny part was that someone chose to debate The Visionary's prediction before last night's game kicked off and he was eating his words in the second quarter. (I'm not bashing you, Mez. I just had to mention it).

We took another 1-1 push in the bases, picking up another 0.2 units. If we keep this up in the bases, we'll pick up one unit every week. Boy, the Diamondbacks really do suck and they just played their way right out of the playoffs. I was hoping to get to a 100 units in the bases before the season ends, but I think we're running out of time. Perhaps with the baseball regular season ending, the college football picks will benefit as I won't have so many baseball games to go over. I will finally be able to focus just on my football handcapping. The Visionary's best month of sports betting over the past two years was October in both 2006 and 2007.

By the way, if anyone wants to show their support for the free picks here and help this blog grow, please read last night's post below titled, "Help Support The Visionary's Cause". All support for this blog is highly appreciated.

We are now halfway to our goal of 150 units by October 15th. Maybe I should have set the bar a little higher. Although, I probably shouldn't get too cocky as the past two weeks I have been unable to carry the mid-week college football winning steak into the weekend. Let's see if we can reverse that trend and start with a winner in tonight's matchup.

The Visionary is going to stray away from the bases for the weekend as the season is winding down. I really love the total in tonight's college football matchup. I'm also going to throw down a small play on the side. Before getting started on my serious football handicapping for the weekend, I have a little bit of time, as well as a little extra motivation. So, I'd like to give you all a little bit of analysis on tonight's move....

Do you guys happen to remember last Friday's post, when I said that UConn would be reluctant to run the ball against Baylor and it would end up hurting them in the end. Well, they were hesitant to put the ball in the air and it did end up hurting them as I said it would. It wasn't until late in the game when they finally realized they were playing a lousy secondary and started to air it out. This week, I really don't think that it'll take as long for the Huskies to realize that they are playing against another lousy secondary as well as a lousy defense overall. Louisville gave up 29 points and 313 yards through the air vs. Kansas State. The Visionary is expecting tonight's matchup to be very similar to the K-State game last Wednesday and is looking for a shootout tonight where Louisville outscores the Huskies in the end. So...

Visionary's Friday Night College Football Picks:

Pick: Connecticut @ Louisville Over 51 (CFB)
Value: 4 Unit Play

Pick: Louisville Cardinals -3.5 (CFB)
Value: 2 Unit Play

Help Support The Visionary's Cause

As I have said many times in the past on this blog, I will never ask you to pay for any of the picks on this site. I know a lot of free picks and handicapping websites say that they will never charge for their picks, but after a while they end up putting a price tag on their so called ‘top plays’ once they develop some players that actually use their plays. Of course, once they start charging for the picks, they run you in to the ground because they really don’t have clue.

However, if you are interested in helping the site progress, there are some ways that you can show your support for this blog. Considering the large traffic numbers that this blog is already receiving without any major exposure out there, I just thought I would mention some of these things. If you want to show your appreciation for the picks, here are a few things that you can do.

1. You can post comments on the daily threads. Any participation in this blog’s open discussion is much appreciated.

2. You can also click on the bookmark links on the right hand panel under “Support the Visionary’s Cause”. These links will help increase exposure of this blog. I appreciate any reader who bookmarks this blog on any social networking sites.

3. In the “Support Links” section, there is also a donation link for making Paypal donations. I am not asking for any money, but if you want to show the ultimate gratitude by donating money to help pay for improvements of the blog, I will gladly accept. All donations will go towards the blog and will go towards a complete makeover of the blog and also the addition of some new features such as odds comparison, handicapping tools and more. I have bigger plans for this blog outside of the free picks.

4. Link to this from your blog or website. If you own your own sports related blog or website and you use these picks, I would highly appreciate a link from your end. Linking to this blog helps out in a big way.

5. Tell your friends. Share this blog with other sports bettors and sports fans that you know.

I will always keep this blog completely free & any support is always highly appreciated.

As always, thanks for reading!

Visionary's Thursday MLB & NCAA Football Picks

2008 MLB Baseball Picks Record: 67-49 (+82.65 Units / 58%)
2008 NFL Football Picks Record: 30-18 (+35.50 Units / 63%)
2008 NCAA Football Picks Record: 22-20 (-1.30 Units / 52%)

Good Morning Sports Bettors:

Well, we went 1-2 on Wednesday night but didn't lose anything. We actually picked up less then a half of a unit by hitting the big underdog runline play in Houston. The weekend is approaching and I am sure you all are excited for some more football action. I am actually very excited as I really want to get that ugly negative sign off the college football record. I am getting sick of looking at it already. I started going over Saturday and Sunday's schedules and see a lot of games that I really like. I am going to make some adjustments in the way I do my college football handicapping. I plan on using more pure numbers and less emotional/circumstantial material when drawing up my college football picks. We will see how it plays out this weekend.

As for tonight; Thursday night's schedule has two college football matchups on the board; both of which are on National TV, and both of which have very large spreads and are not supposed to be close. However, this evening should be interesting as we get to watch the number one team in the nation take the field again since their destruction of the over-rated Ohio State Buckeyes. USC is also a bit over-hyped in my opinion. The Trojans may be the best team in the nation, but is not by much. Here's a college football prediction for ya and you can mark my words on this; USC will not go undefeated this year. They may even lose two.

Anyway, The Visionary is not going crazy tonight guys. We're going to play both of the games at 'average to small' plays; one side and one total tonight. Players, I do not advise playing these games big in any way tonight. Do you really think that there is any chance of getting an edge over the house in these two matchups? Be patient. Sit back and root for a monumental size upset tonight as we are going with the Beavers and the points. The weekend will be here soon enough. I also spotted two small baseball dogs that I feel have some some nice value. So, we have a rather large card of average and small MLB & college football picks for Thursday night. Enjoy....

Visionary's Thursday MLB & NCAA Football Picks:

Pick: SMU/Tulane Over 49 (CFB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Oregon State Beavers +26.5 (CFB)
Value: 2 Unit Play

Colorado Rockies +110 (MLB)
Value: 2 Unit Play

Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks +110 (MLB)
Value: 2 Unit Play

2008 NFL Football Picks Record: 30-18 (+35.50 Units / 63%)

Good Morning My Sports Betting Friends:

I thoroughly enjoyed my first day off since starting this blog a few months ago. Whoever else decided to take the day off with me, I hope you enjoyed your's as well. However, I have the feeling that there is a large percentage of my readers who didn't take a break as I suggested. If that may be the case, I hope your Tuesday was a profitable one. As for Wednesday, I will spend this evening looking over the Thursday and Friday college football matchups to see if I can come up with some solid plays in hopes of bringing the college football bank back into the black. I have three MLB picks to go with for Wednesday evening which I am actually feeling quite confident about. This has been a great baseball season thus far. Let's hope we can keep that trend going tonight. Anyway, here are the Wednesday Major League Baseball picks, and I will see you all again tomorrow.

Visionary's Wednesday MLB Baseball Picks:

Pick: New York Mets -1.5 +165 (MLB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Houston Astros -1.5 +180 (MLB)
Value: 3 Unit Play

Pick: Yankees/Blue Jays Over 8.5 (MLB)

The Visionary's Tuesday Night Break

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all don't mind, but The Visionary needs a break. Therefore, I will be taking Tuesday night off. After losing the Monday Nighter in New York last night, I decided that I could use a day away from the computer. I took a quick glance and the baseball board and after trying to break down a few games, I got a headache and started to feel a little burnt out. So, in light of the overall 'break even' weekend and the idea of my hard work not paying any serious dividends this past week, it's time for short break. So, I will not be playing anything tonight. And, no way I am going to advise my readers to play when I am not. I suggest everyone take the day off from sports betting and watch a movie with the wife or girlfriend for a change. Spend some time with your loved ones tonight instead of watching sports. I will catch you all tomorrow with a fresh outlook and some more winners! Good day!
