Giving credit where credit is due, I stole this title from my buddy over at the "
Money Line Journal". Moneyline made a similar post a few months ago, and I believe he was in a small slump at the time as well.
I updated the records today and went over my balances at all my offshore sportsbook accounts; including my favorites; BetUS & JustBet (Exclusive 100% Bonus at both books using any of the links on this blog).
When doing this, I noticed a two things;
1. One being, I still have very nice balances from the baseball and football seasons, where I finished the year in both sports up over 125 units. I don't usually cash out any accounts until the end of the year and I always let my MLB bankroll carry over into football season.
2. The other thing I noticed, which has been pretty evident by the resent results, is that I have seen quite of bit of losses lately. These losses are a result of my putrid NBA handicapping thus far in the 2008-09 season. I know that I am not alone this season, as some of the better handicappers that I know personally are having some of their worst starts that they have ever had in the NBA as well.
The good thing about the recent losses is that I have at least 2/3 of the season in the basketball to get back on track. While my recent results may give the impression that this is a sinking ship, I argue that it's not how you start the race, it's how you finish. I believe I was down almost 50-units as one point this season, and I finished the season above ground and up over 30 units in football all together.
To the ignorant pathetic saps that choose to bash me on the comments when I hit cold streaks; You are the reason that I have to moderate my comments and why my dedicated readers who appreciate this blog can't instantly have their comments added. I wish you nothing but the worst and you can go straight to hell for all I care. I don't feel the least bit sorry when people like you lose a bet on my recommended pick. Either way, the more time I spend moderating and deleting stupid comments, the less time I spend handicapping and posting. But, I don't owe you a god damn thing. Not only have I shown over 60 units of profit in the past year...I have also dug up some of the best sportsbook bonuses on the web for my readers. But, if attempting to insult someone on the comments of a free sports picks blog is what your life has come to, then perhaps you should look at yourself in the mirror and repeat these five words, "I'm looking at a loser."
Back to the point of this post. The overall message that I am trying to convey is....As bad as this past week's results may appear, it's really not all that terrible in the big pitcure. It's a long basketball season and I have plenty of winners ahead. I have bounced back from cold streaks before and plan on getting the hoops bankroll into the black. I am hoping to start this slow uphil climb with a few winners for tonight. I am putting the final touches on Thursday's card and I will have it posted in about an hour or two.
