Hello Players,
I sincerely apologize for the absence of plays the past two days. I know that I was on a nice run that continued into the weekend. First, my NFL fantasy football league had a draft party which took place on Saturday night. This fantasy league isn't small either. We have a 15-team league and 16-round draft party where everyone drinks a lot of alcoholic beverages. Needless to say, this ran all night on Saturday and I was up all evening partying and drafting with my fellow fantasy footballers. So, Sunday was a bit of a drag. I ran into some personal business that I had to take care of on Monday. I was planning on posting yesterday as we most likely would have been on Minnesota for a small play. But, there is never any use pondering over what "coulda been" in sports handicapping. I just didn't get the necessary time to put in any solid handicapping work over the past two days. But, I am back now and full of energy...
As for what I have on my Tuesday baseball card, I have two small underdogs.
I will also be taking the day to go over the college football schedule this week; which, by the way, begins on Thursday!!! College football is finally here and I hope to actually turn some profits this season, instead of my (99-92 +0.15 unit) overall push last year. I also intend to improve on my 25 unit NFL season last year. Excited to get started....
I may be back this evening with a Wednesday baseball card, but I will be focusing entirely on the college football picks for Thursday. While I am on the topic, I might as well tell you how I feel about the baseball season right now; Things really didn't go as they usually do for me in the bases this year. It's usually my strongest sport. However, the MLB season certainly isn't a wash this year, and I am not treating it like one. I know there is still a decent amount of time left turn a decent profit. On the other hand, I have to be careful in these last few weeks of the regular season as football is going to take up a big chunk of my time (I can't quit my job quite yet guys) and I don't want my baseball picks to suffer because of it. The last few years, I made the majority of my baseball profits in the early parts of the regular season, before football. So, winding down the baseball picks at the end of the year last season didn't hurt the overall bottom line. I think I can work with the MLB playoffs a little better then I can with the recent regular season baseball lines. Playoff races really make it hard to handicap baseball games. External factors such as; motivation, injuries, and weather always make handicapping more difficult (especially baseball). I always prefer to cap MLB games where the external factors are at minimum, and of course where there are home underdogs. For the most part, I am looking forward to putting a lot more effort into the baseball playoffs where you will probably see a few 4 and 5 unit plays this year.
Anyway, here are my two small MLB picks for Tuesday. The Visionary will holler at you all later on to let you know what's happening. Good to be back...
