2008 NCAA Football Picks Record: 19-16 (+3.00 Units / 54%)

Good Afternoon Sports Bettors:

How about that for a Thursday night? A very nice 3-0 (+9 Unit) sweep last night keeps things profitable heading into the weekend. Looks like we are getting things back on track after our rough weekend last week. Right now, we are at +115 units of total profit. I am setting a new goal of 165 units by October 20-30 which gives us just over month to pick up 50 additional units. I fee this a reasonable goal tht could be reached. I am not going to force anything in order to achieve this mark, but it gives us a long term target to shoot for. I am going to eventually start a graph that monitors The Visionary's bankroll. Feeling good about this upcoming weekend. I see a lot of sharp NFL and college football plays that I really like.

I really like my college football pick in the Baylor / Connecticut matchup tonight. Considering my recent slump in the college gridiron, I thought I would tell you a little bit about why I like this play. First off, I should tell you that I have been hearing a lot of positive things about Baylor from some college football insiders over the past few weeks. Baylor has an extremely talented freshman quarterback (Robert Griffin) and a nasty wide receiver (David Gettis) who should be very fun to watch tonight and could give the Connecticut defense some headaches. I also feel that Art Briles is slowly turning a corner with this program. They are an improving squad who has the young talent to maybee pull off the upset tonight. I am also not sure that the general public is aware of this Baylor team's potential and how much talent they really have. However, this is also Griffins first big, national TV game where he is truly under the spotlight. I am also not 100% sold on this team and they are still very weak in the secondary. But, Uconn is a run happy squad. The Huskies reluctance to throw the ball down field early in the game could keep Baylor in this one, even if the young Bears quarterback takes a quarter to get settled in. I would also feel a lot more comfortable with the opening number at 14. I do believe that it was sharp action that moved this line so quickly. The Bears cashed a big play for us last Friday where their game was overshadowed by the primetime Kansas/South Florida college football matchup. Let's see if they can do it for us once again tonight. I am also throwing two more MLB picks in the mix for Friday as the bases have been very profitable for us. So, here they are...The Visionary's Friday free sports picks...

I see Tampa laying the runs.

Carl,

How are you? Haven't heard from you in quite a while. Glad to see you are still reading. You are correct on this.

The play is...
Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 +160

This has been corrected on the blog post. It would be impossible with pretty much any team to be getting +1.5 runs and still picking up a buck sixty.

Thanks for pointing out the error. Let's make some money tonight!
